The Merriments journey so far

As the opening of our first show centre draws ever closer, it is amazing to look back and see how far the place has come in just four weeks. The very first task was to install the decking area, which has become our shed display and location for the office. Our lads got the decking up in good time and proceeded to build their first Contemporary Home Office. By the end of the first week, both the decking and Home Office were complete in terms of construction. However the decking was bare, with just the unpainted and unoccupied home office standing there.

At the start of week two the brand new log cabins arrived. These are a brand new line for NFF, so it was exciting to see these cabins go up and see the finished product. The home office began to take shape with painting and staining making the building look a little more loved. The low profile panel heater was also installed, so it made a nice room to take a break in during the cold February mornings. Our salesman Vic was getting anxious to move into his new office and make it his own!

The sheds arrived and were installed in one day during week three, which fully populated the decking area. What was just a blank area of decking two weeks previously, was now filled with summerhouses, workshops and wendy houses. Yet more log cabins arrived including the three roomed Elm, which was impressive to see completed. Vic moved into his painted and furnished office, keen to start selling the timber buildings around him. Painting the log cabins had begun which started to add colour to the place.

Week four was the first week in March and the weather had started brightening up; it started to feel like spring. The lads continued to build log cabins at an impressive rate and made improvements to the site such as an accessibility ramp up onto the decking. Vic began meeting potential customers and we began to start making the place look lived in by furnishing the log cabins.

It is now less than four weeks away to our grand opening, we hope as many of you can make it as possible. We will be serving coffee and cake, with a mystery special guest to make an appearance!
